Kobe Animal Kingdom

About an hour west of Osaka is Kobe, a place known for its high-grade beef. But before that, we were headed to the Kobe Animal Kingdom.

Interestingly, the train that goes from the station to the island is another one of the automated trains like in Odaiba.

I don’t know if it is just this zoo or if it is Japanese zoos in general. But a large chunk of the animals here weren’t behind any barriers. Like at any point the massive shoebill could just fly over to where you are. Now the actually dangerous things were behind something: cougars, wolves, bears, etc. Or things that would be in danger if people got in contact with them.
