Today we were making our way from Ueno about 200 miles north to Zao, a ski resort area, but more importantly home to the Zao Fox Village.
This meant taking ~2 hour long ride on the Tohoku Shinkansen.
For something going nearly 200mph, there are no bumps and it’s very quiet.
But after the shorter than expected ride, we arrived in Shiroishi Zao. Then it was taxi time to get up into the mountains where the foxes were.
A familiar sight of snow is what we were soon greeted with. Reminded of what we get back home… aside from the mountains.
