I got off my bus and had a short walk down a winding road leading to my hotel, where I finally got a glimpse of Lake Ashi.
Lake Ashi is right next to Mt. Hakone, which you can see from the lake. This is also where Hakone Shrine is located, as well as the well-known Heiwa no Tori; a Tori gate in the water.
I am also obligated to explain that this lake is where Unit-02 comes out of in the End of Evangelion film. Hakone itself is where the large majority of the anime takes place, known as Tokyo-3. This is why EVA-YA is here and much more that will appear in future locations.
